Youth Is Real

Why don’t you make it real
Instead of lying to yourself
About false truths and manipulative words
Tell me children can’t feel
When I was five I felt
Love for a girl and I still
Think about her every little while
Love for older guys
Chasing eyes
Relationships with guiding lights
Feelings that are natural
Normal and free
Yet you cover your ears
You wish to opress
You seek to detest
You want to deny
Capable of independent thought
Capable of saying no
Minimized and neglected
Ignored and disrespected
Omitted emotions
Stepping on the notion
Of your fantasy words
Of your fantasy world
Cause youth is real
And children can feel
And their love is as real
Than the deepest of pain
From which the heart must heal
