Godly Soul

Everyday this lump in my throat
Serves as a reminder that
I’m getting older and
Not growing any younger
I look at your beauty
Like a young fire lit
Fanning the flames you wave
So that you can flourish
Into a great flame
And warm up the hearts
Of every being you touch
And maybe one day you’ll see
You were the bestest friend
You melt my heart away
A heart that’s defective and dead
But yours will continue to burn
Cause you’re not like me you see
Your soul’s the immortal kind
A soul that’ll live a thousand lives
A soul that’s the godly kind
Your childish smile
Your frail little body
It lives in my scattered mind
And I will keep fanning your body
And I will keep seeking your body
Cause I love the way you dance
The shadow that paints across
The walls of the forest
And animals that like to watch
As we act like animals
But you’ll fly like a perfect moth
So open those eyes my dear
And open your beautiful wings
And flash your beautiful light
Cause your youth that lives on in my mind
Is your strength that defines you
And children like you will rule the world
And make all their dreams come true
